Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan has concluded filming for the highly anticipated movies, Indian 2 and Indian 3. In a recent interview with The Hindu, the actor shared insights into the completion of these projects, along with updates on his upcoming ventures.
Reflecting on the journey, Haasan emphasized the importance of quality over quantity in film production. He stated, “We can’t make up for the lost time. Also, we cannot speed up production as the quantity doesn’t matter, quality does.” With Indian 2 and Indian 3 now in the can, the focus has shifted to post-production, with Indian 2 currently undergoing this phase before transitioning to Indian 3.
Aside from the Indian franchise, Haasan revealed details about his involvement in Mani Ratnam’s upcoming project, “Thug Life,” indicating that filming will commence post-election campaigns. Additionally, he mentioned a cameo role in the film “Kalki 2898 AD.”
The journey of Indian 2 has been marked by numerous challenges and delays since its announcement in 2018. Issues such as budget overruns, tragic accidents on set, and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic contributed to the prolonged hiatus. However, despite the setbacks, the perseverance of the team has finally paid off with the completion of filming.
Indian 2 boasts an ensemble cast, including Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rahul Preet Singh, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, and Priya Bhavani Shankar. Director Shankar’s innovative use of CGI and body doubles has allowed the inclusion of late actors Vivek and Nedumudi Venu, adding to the anticipation surrounding the film.
As fans eagerly await further updates, reports suggest that the film’s release date may coincide with its predecessor’s anniversary on May 9, mirroring the original Indian’s release in 1996. However, an official confirmation regarding this awaits release from the makers.
With filming wrapped up and post-production underway, the excitement continues to build for Indian 2, promising audiences a captivating cinematic experience upon its release.
