Spreading Joy Through Music: Anand Hi Anand Musical Show by Rotary Club of Bombay

In a heartwarming initiative to bring joy to underprivileged elders, the Rotary Club of Bombay (RCB) partnered with the Dignity Foundation to host the third edition of their annual musical extravaganza, Anand Hi Anand, at the Y.B. Chavan auditorium in Mumbai. The packed auditorium reverberated with the soulful melodies of Bollywood songs, providing a memorable evening for all attendees.

Manoj Patodia, President of RCB, expressed the essence of the event, stating, “The idea is to expose our underprivileged elders to the joy of music.” Indeed, the concert served as a platform to uplift spirits and create moments of happiness for the elderly members of the community.

Among the audience were not only members of the three elder day care centers but also numerous Rotarians and well-wishers who wholeheartedly supported this noble cause. Patodia extended his gratitude to the Shankar Mahadevan Academy for their invaluable contribution, not only in teaching music to the elders at Byculla but also for their teachers’ performance on stage.

Additionally, Soulful Saturdays, with their heartfelt performances for the second consecutive year, added to the evening’s charm. Each singer poured their heart and soul into their rendition, showcasing their talent as a labor of love for the elders.

Ananda Yaan, or Mission to Happiness, epitomizes the commitment of RCB and its partners to bring a ray of happiness into the lives of underprivileged elders residing in Central Mumbai. Originating in Byculla in 2017, the program has since expanded to include centers at E. Moses Rd. and Mazgaon, reaching a broader spectrum of elders in need.

Beyond the musical show, the elders benefit from a structured program that encompasses yoga and Zumba sessions five days a week. Moreover, they are treated to picnics and offsite excursions, ensuring holistic well-being. Regular health check-ups and access to medications further underline the dedication to their physical and mental health.

In conclusion, Anand Hi Anand stands as a testament to the transformative power of music and community-driven initiatives. Through the collective efforts of RCB, Dignity Foundation, and their partners, the program continues to illuminate the lives of underprivileged elders, spreading smiles and fostering a sense of belonging in the community.
