“Faltering Fortunes: Siddharth Anand’s ‘Fighter’ Struggles at the Box Office Despite Strong Start”

Despite a strong start, Siddharth Anand’s latest Bollywood film “Fighter” starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor, faced a decline in box office numbers after Republic Day. The movie, centered around an airstrike action drama, witnessed an impressive 75.56% rise on Republic Day, earning ₹39.5 crore. However, the subsequent days didn’t match this peak, with a 30% drop on the first Saturday, accumulating ₹27.5 crore. Although there was a slight uptick on Sunday with ₹29 crore, the film faced a significant setback on Monday, experiencing a 72.41% drop and earning ₹8 crore. Since then, it has consistently garnered single-digit figures at the Indian box office.

On Tuesday, the movie earned ₹7.5 crore, followed by approximately ₹6.35 crore on Wednesday, contributing to a total domestic earning of ₹140.35 crore. Despite its performance, “Fighter” has accumulated ₹69 crore internationally, reaching a global total of ₹229.8 crore.

The film has drawn comparisons with another Siddharth Anand-directed project, “Pathaan.” Both films marked the first big-budget entertainers of the year. “Fighter” is navigating its box office journey, and its performance will continue to be scrutinized in the coming days.
