Bangalore Metro Green Line Disruption: Navigating Changes from Peenya Industry to Nagasandra – January 26 to 28, 2024

Navigating the Metro Maze: Disruptions on the Green Line

In a recent announcement, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) disclosed that commuters on the Green line are in for a brief challenge. Services between Peenya Industry and Nagasandra metro stations will face a temporary disruption from January 26 to 28. However, the Purple line, connecting Whitefield and Challaghatta metro stations, remains unaffected, providing a sigh of relief for many passengers.

Despite the inconvenience, BMRCL assures that other stretches will maintain their regular schedules during this period. The disruption is attributed to commissioning works for the extension line beyond Nagasandra, leading to the closure of Green line services for the specified three days.

To mitigate potential crowds at Peenya Industry and Goraguntepalya Metro stations, authorities recommend purchasing OR tickets in advance through platforms like WhatsApp or dedicated metro apps. This proactive approach aims to streamline the boarding process, emphasizing efficiency for passengers.

Acknowledging the inconvenience caused, BMRCL encourages commuters to cooperate during this brief disruption. The goal is to expedite the commissioning works for the extension line, facilitating improved services for the future. The extension line, stretching beyond Nagasandra to Madavara, is anticipated to enhance connectivity and cater to the growing needs of the city.

During the disruption, metro train services will be available exclusively between Peenya Industry and Silk Institute stations. Normal operations on the Green line, covering Nagasandra to Silk Institute metro stations, are expected to resume seamlessly on Monday, January 29, starting at 5 am.

As the city undergoes these necessary adjustments for metro expansion, passengers are urged to plan their travel accordingly and anticipate a return to regular services soon. The temporary inconveniences are seen as investments in a more extensive and efficient metro network for the vibrant city of Bangalore.
